Community engagement policy

The hotel management is committed to support and continuously cooperate with the local community.

Astron Suites & Apartments is a city hotel, located in a neighborhood with local families. For that reason, we are committed to operate our hotel in a way that respects the community, promoted that culture and heritage as well as the local economy.

Our targets

- respect and protect local culture, traditions and way of life
- support initiatives that improve the community
- support and protect access to essential resources and services

What we do to achieve our goals

We encourage our clients to visit the archaeological sites of the island, by providing all necessary information.

We encourage our clients to support our community work with charity boxes in the hotel for the organizations we support, as well as information for these organizations.

We provide our guests with guidance on how to behave responsibly outside the hotel, in the archaeological and religious sites.

We regularly assess the impacts our business has on the local community with continuous dialogue and by solving any matters that arise on the spot.

Where possible, we give preference to local products and services.

We give preference to local staff in recruitment, especially to neighbors, in order to minimize any carbon emission for staff transportation to their daily work.

We donate very often used linen to the refuge hot spot located in our island, the hospital and local nonprofit organizations.

We support the local nonprofit organization Kos we care that is continuously cleaning local beaches and green spaces for garbage, and the hotel management is taking part in their actions during the winter season.

We support financially people from our island that need our help.

This policy is communicated internally and externally via staff noticeboards and client noticeboards.
